From 1 April 2009, all government departments and executive agencies will be required to ensure that all timber and wood products are purchased from legal and sustainable sources. In order to make this as simple as possible, Defra has established the Central Point of Expertise for Timber Procurement (CPET), a website that provides online information and advice on meeting the UK government’s Timber Procurement Policy.
