The benefits of woodfuel

on 28th Feb 2009

A recent study by Creative Environment Networks (CEN) for Hampshire County Council has found that woodfuel from the New Forest and surrounding areas could supply around 2.5% of the area’s predicted gas consumption by 2026, offsetting 46,000 tonnes of carbon emissions, and generating around £4 million for the area.

Details of the study are reported in
'Woodfuel: A technical study for South Hampshire', which can be downloaded from www.cen.org.uk/biomass/downloads.asp.
